And don't forget to make sure the drive letter is not already in use.

If it is, use a different letter.

Stefan,

Change the line:

$y = DriveMapAdd("y:", "\\bies002\projekte\program\admin\B R E N N P R O G R A M M E\WinOnCD\WinOnCD_DVD_akt\WinOnCD", 0, $usr,$pwd)

To:

$y = DriveMapAdd("y:", "\\bies002\projekte", 0, $usr,$pwd)

Assuming "projekte" is a valid share on that system, and it should work.

You would then need another line to navigate to the lower folder, like:

$yFolder = Y:\program\admin\B R E N N P R O G R A M M E\WinOnCD\WinOnCD_DVD_akt\WinOnCD"

Then use "$yFolder" as your baseline folder for WinOnCD.

Hi, it's me again :-)

I try to use the following script to mount a Network drive in a W2k
environment:

#include "uid_pwd.au3"

DriveMapDel("y:")

$y = DriveMapAdd("y:", "\\bies002\projekte\program\admin\B R E N N P R O G R A M M E\WinOnCD\WinOnCD_DVD_akt\WinOnCD", 0, $usr,$pwd)

if $y = 0 then

MsgBox(0,"Fehler",@error)

Exit

EndIf

MsgBox(0,"","Pause")

DriveMapDel("y:")

What happens is, that I receive every time the error 1.

The Variables $usr and $pwd are correct.

I guess it has something to do with the right to use the folder. If I use it from a PC where I am logged on with my personal account (same username and password I use in the Variables) It is working.

If I try it with another account (same PC other user but my personal userdata in the Variables), which has normaly not the rights to use this folder, it stops (Error 1).

To explain:

Version 1

Logged on User: StefanLubitz; Pwd: firsttime

User in the Variable: $usr=StefanLubitz; $pwd: firsttime

Result: Working

Version 2

Logged on User: MikeWeber; Pwd: schnullibulli

User in the Variable: $usr=StefanLubitz; $pwd: firsttime

Result: Not Working

Some Ideas??????

Regards,

Stefan

Hi,
I have tried the Idea of Van. But it has the same effect. Drive Y is not
used by something else and it is working in both ways (mine and the Idea of
Van) if I am logged on to the PC.

Hi,

If I am not wrong windows does not allow you to connect to a share with different credentials if you had already accessed it (or any other share or browse the same computer in network neighborhood) in the current logon session. Try to check it by manually trying to connect to the share before running the script with the same credentials you supply on it.

Hi Marlos,
you are right. The Problem was that some additional drives were already
mapped to this server (z: was \\bies002\printer p: was \\bies002\projects
and so on.....)
Due to this, I was not able to connect with other credentials to the same
server (bies002).
So what's the Solution?
1: I move the installation directory to a different Server (I will do this,
because Bies002 is full anyway).
2: I disconnect all Network Drives, before I connect the needed one.

Solution 2 is a little bit dangerous, because if the user has some
applications open (f.e. Word which has open a file from the Network Drive)
the data can be lost.

Anyway, here is a Script what could be used, if someone else has the same
problem sometime.

#include <Array.au3>
;Read all Drive Data into the Array starting from G: to Z:
Dim $driveArray[1]
for $i = 71 to 90
$strDrive = Chr($i) & ":"
_ArrayAdd($driveArray,DriveMapGet($strDrive))
next

;Disconnect all mapped drives
;Warning Message
;$chk = MsgBox(1, "Attention!", "All Network Connections will be closed.
Please Save all your unsaved Work before you continue!")
;if $chk = 2 Then
;Exit
for $i = 71 to 90
$strDrive = Chr($i) & ":"
DriveMapDel($strDrive)
next

;Mapp the Drive you need
$y = DriveMapAdd("y:", "\\Server\share", 0, "user","password")
if $y = 0 then
MsgBox(0,"Error",@error)
Exit
EndIf

;Installation Code
;.
;.
;.

;Disconnect the Drive after installation
DriveMapDel("y:")
;Map all original Drives back
$d=1
for $i = 71 to 90
$strDrive = Chr($i) & ":"
DriveMapadd($strDrive, $driveArray[$d])
$d=$d+1
next

Regards,
Stefan

Hi Marlos,
you are right. The Problem was that some additional drives were already
mapped to this server (z: was \\bies002\printer p: was
\\bies002\projects
Post by Stefan Lubitz
and so on.....)
Due to this, I was not able to connect with other credentials to the same
server (bies002).
So what's the Solution?
1: I move the installation directory to a different Server (I will do this,
because Bies002 is full anyway).
2: I disconnect all Network Drives, before I connect the needed one.
3) Connect to the IP address instead of the server name
(\\192.168.23.24\share instead of \\server24\share)

Hey stephen,

I have never tried to write something like that (I don't play the drive map game, it just never made sense to me), but I gotta say, if I did, it would come out nowhere near as well as that little tidbit.

Thanks for posting it to the group

Might be interested in this....

For $i = 74 To 90
$strDrive = Chr($i) & ":"
If DriveMapGet($strDrive) Then
if $i = 90 Then MsgBox(0, "Message", "No Drives Left")
Else
$getDriveLetter = $strDrive
$i = 90
EndIf
Next

Subject: [AutoIt] DriveMapAdd

Hi, it's me again :-)

I try to use the following script to mount a Network drive in a W2k
environment:

#include "uid_pwd.au3"

DriveMapDel("y:")

$y = DriveMapAdd("y:", "\\bies002\projekte\program\admin\B R E N N P R O G R A M M E\WinOnCD\WinOnCD_DVD_akt\WinOnCD", 0, $usr,$pwd)

if $y = 0 then

MsgBox(0,"Fehler",@error)

Exit

EndIf

MsgBox(0,"","Pause")

DriveMapDel("y:")

What happens is, that I receive every time the error 1.

The Variables $usr and $pwd are correct.

I guess it has something to do with the right to use the folder. If I use it from a PC where I am logged on with my personal account (same username and password I use in the Variables) It is working.

If I try it with another account (same PC other user but my personal userdata in the Variables), which has normaly not the rights to use this folder, it stops (Error 1).

To explain:

Version 1

Logged on User: StefanLubitz; Pwd: firsttime

User in the Variable: $usr=StefanLubitz; $pwd: firsttime

Result: Working

Version 2

Logged on User: MikeWeber; Pwd: schnullibulli

User in the Variable: $usr=StefanLubitz; $pwd: firsttime

Result: Not Working

Some Ideas??????

Regards,

Stefan
